Opening Keynote: Erik Larson
7:00PM

Erik Larson is a master of narrative non-fiction. His vividly written, bestselling books have won several awards and been published worldwide. Join us in celebration of his latest, The Demon of Unrest. Tickets are required and include a pre-signed copy of the book. Following the conversation, Erik Larson will sign copies for attendees. Location: Long Island University, Krasnoff Theater

Saturday Headliner: Alice McDermott

Award-winning author and Pulitzer Prize finalist Alice McDermott makes a special visit to Long Island to discuss her critically acclaimed new novel, Absolution. The wives of the Vietnam War take center stage in this poignant novel about two women whose marital duties to their soldier husbands in Saigon resonate sixty years later. Tickets are required and include a signed copy of the book. Following the conversation, McDermott will sign copies for attendees. Location: Long Island University, Krasnoff Theater

Join Gold Coast Book Fair for a very special event featuring the 14th Librarian of Congress, Carla Hayden sitting in conversation with former Congressman Steve Israel at the First Presbyterian Church in Oyster Bay. At this special visit to Long Island, Hayden will discuss her important work as our nation’s foremost librarian, the role that libraries and librarians play in ensuring our democracy’s freedom of speech, and why libraries have never been more important to the future of American civic life. Free to attend! FREE TO ATTEND!* Join us for downtown Oyster Bay day! Head to the heart of Oyster Bay for an all-day outdoor marketplace. Stop by the gazebo for children’s programming and visit Theodore’s Books for more book browsing and Book Fair souvenirs. Join us for very special, limited-seat events with authors at Oyster Bay’s finest restaurants. (Tickets will be on sale soon.) At the end of the day, join us for a swinging Gatsby-themed happy hour! *Restaurant events are ticketed. The marketplace and all other events are free. Gold Coast Book Fair is free to attend at LIU and in Oyster Bay, though note that select events are ticketed and require a purchase.

Oyster Bay day will take place on Main Street in Oyster Bay.
