Author Submissions

Author submissions for the 2025 Gold Coast Book Fair are now open. Please see below for guidelines, including the genres we are looking for.

The 2025 Gold Coast Book Fair takes place May 16-18 in Oyster Bay and Brookville, Long Island. Authors who are invited to participate must arrange their own travel to the Fair.

The Fair will present approximately 75 authors. All authors who are invited to participate will be featured in a panel or solo session as determined by our Programming Director.

Authors will be invited on an ongoing basis through February 2025. All submissions will receive a notice of their status by March 2025.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Authors are chosen based on our programming needs and the topics we are most interested in discussing each year, as determined by advisory committees and our Programming Director.

Priority is given to books published within one calendar year prior to the Fair dates. However, we do occasionally consider books outside of this publication window.

In order to be considered, books must have an ISBN, title, and be professionally edited and bound (no spiral bindings, for example). Print copies of the book must be available via a publisher or wholesaler. Self-published titles are considered; in those cases, if invited, the author must be able to provide the Fair’s bookseller with print copies of the book to sell on consignment.

We consider books in the following genres:

  • Fiction
  • Genre Fiction (Romance, Science Fiction, Horror, Mystery, etc.)
  • Poetry
  • Nonfiction (History, Current Events, Memoir, Essays, Biography, Sports, Narrative and Creative Nonfiction)
  • Cookbooks
  • Young People’s Literature
  • Long Island interest

We do not consider the following:

  • Religious texts
  • Textbooks or strictly academic books.
