Jackie is an award-winning, internationally translated children’s book author with a Master’s in Counseling in Education. She’s published over a dozen picture books including: Manolo & the Unicorn; Empandas for Everyone; Rhythm; and several others. Jackie’s books have been honored as Bank Street Best Children’s Book of the Year and Bank Street Best Children’s Books in Spanish. A Junior Library Guild Gold Selection. A Parents’ Magazine Book Pick and Chicago Public Library “Best of the Best Books” and has won the Society of Children’s Books Writers and Illustrators, Crystal Kite award. Jackie strives to write books that meet children where they are and reflect what children see in their mirrors and out of their windows. She lives in Long Island, NY. When not writing, you’ll find her reading, watching old movies and traveling to her family’s roots in Ecuador, Puerto Rico and Spain.
